POMSOX session today witnessed slight gains for the main index while as the home index stayed unchanged amid a quiet trading session. The KSi climbed 244.39 points or 6.42% to 4,049.05 points while KHSi stayed 9,052.46 points.
There were ten trades registered with one stock gained out of two today.
PNG’s leading oil and gas company Oil Search Ltd (OSH) was only stock that advanced, registering gain at K22.00, up K2.78.
The only other stock that traded was financial stock Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) finishing at K7.14 flat.
Friday’s trading recorded light volume of 3,751 shares valued at K52,445.36.
U.S stocks ended flat after a choppy trading session that followed previous day’s massive losses. The Dow Jones Industrial Average shed 24.50 points or 0.15% to 16,117.24 points. Asian shares rebounded, reversing selloff from a six-month low after Federal Reserve’s outlook. The Japanese Nikkei share average declined 206 points or 1.40% to 14,533 points. Australian share market extended yesterday’s rebound by earlier gains that hovered well above the flat-line buoyed by the big banks. The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 added 16.83 points or 0.32% to 5,271.72 points today.
