POMSOX on Friday traded thinly with both Kina Securities Indices gaining some grounds. The Main index KSi added 5.29 points or 0.15% to 3,455.14 points and the Home index KSHi surged 86.46 points or 0.92% to 9,464.89 points.
Three stocks were traded with only one stock that gained.
New Britain Palm Oil Ltd (NBO) added 50toea to close at K25.50.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) closed unchanged, registering a few trades at K7.13. PNG’s oil and gas stock Oil Search Ltd (OSH) closed at K15.61 flat.
Total shares recorded today was 21,920 units valued at K1,918.00.
U.S stocks ended on choppy trading session on report Switzerland’s decision to ditch its euro cap. The Dow Jones Industrial Average shed 106.38 points or 0.61% to 17,320.71 points. Japan’s Nikkei share average hit 2- ½ month low on Friday afternoon on Switzerland’s move to abandon its franc minimum cap dampened risk appetite. The Index slumped 245 points or 1.43% to 16,864 points. Likewise, the S&P/ASX 200 fell 32.13 points or 0.60% to 5,299.24 points as Australian market closed lower, following weak lead from overseas market overnight and mixed results from sectors.
