The Kina Securities indices closed steady on Friday. The main index, the KSi, added 1.06 point (0.02%) at 4,606.18 points, meanwhile the Kina Securities Home index, or the KSHi remained flat at 7,996.56 points.
There was one stock that gained POMSoX with no loss today.
Oil Search Ltd (OSH), the oil and gas company, collected a toea to complete at K17.59, as the stock closed the week on a positive note.
Marengo Mining Ltd (MMC) finished at 14 flat, while Kina Asset Management Ltd (KAM) and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) both ended steady at K1.10 and K2.60 respectively.
The day’s session recorded a low volume of 15,962 shares at a value of K50,014.40.
In markets abroad, U.S stocks ended today with the worst declines in more than 5 weeks as investors flocked to safety bidding up treasuries with worry over Ukraine. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 231.19 points, or 1.14% ending at 16,108.89 points at the close. Asian stocks fell with a regional gauge set for the biggest weekly slump. Japan’s Nikkei share average closed lower by 488 points, 3.30% at 14,328 points today. Australian share market has closed lower with the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index, set down by 83.22 points, 1.54% at 5,329.40 points today.
