Friday’s POMSOX trading was modest as both Kina Securities stock indices remained unchanged. The main index KSi was steady at 3.474.18 and the Home Index KSHi stayed at 9,514.13 points.
There were four stocks traded but all stayed put at the close.
Financials Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) and Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) both stayed at K7.20 and K2.50 respectively. Kina Securities Ltd (KSL) traded at K2.80 (ASX close: $1.245, -0.025). Oil Search Ltd (OSH) unchanged at K15.00.
Trading was average with turnover of K190,549.80, comprising a total of 63,715 units of shares traded hands.
U.S stocks were mostly lower in overnight trading, marked by narrow gains and losses as readings on retail sales and jobless claims suggested a healthy U.S economy. The Dow Average edged up 5.74 points or 0.03% to 17,408.25 points. Japan’s Nikkei dipped on profit taking and sliding oil prices amid fears of weakening Chinese yuan. The Nikkei Index slipped 76.10 points or 0.37% to 20,519.45 points. In Australia the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed 26.97 points lower or 0.50% to 5,360.90 points today as share trading was flat as wary investors eyed off Chinese currency devaluations.
