Both stock market indices were maintained on Friday’s POMSOX trading session amid thin trading. The Kina Securities main index KSi was unchanged at 5, 458.33 points and similarly the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi was steady at 10, 917.38 points.
Financial and banking stock, Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) was unchanged and closed at K9.50 flat.
This was followed closely by mining and energy stock Newcrest Mining Ltd (NCM) and Oil Search Ltd (OSH) which both evened out at K57.00 and K17.92 flat respectively.
The day’s session transacted a thin volume of 2, 528 shares worth K33, 507.38.
The main U.S stock benchmarks closed moderately higher with the S&P 500 snapping a four-session losing streak on the back of gains in technology as the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 70.59 points or 0.29% to 24, 211.48 points. Japanese stocks rose on gains for most sectors after Wall Street climbed overnight as the Nikkei share average advanced 255.30 points or 1.13% to close at 22, 753.33 points. Shares ended in positive territory with utility companies putting spark into the benchmark at the end of a lacklustre week. The S&P/ASX 200 index advanced 16 points or 0.3% to 5, 994.00 points.
