Friday’s POMSOX trading session saw both stock indices heavily declined. The Kina Securities main index KSi was down 6.51 points or 0.13% to 4,984.22 points and similarly the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi slumped 153.55 points or 1.38% to 11,002.73 points.
All stocks traded today ended on the red.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) fell 5toea lower to close at K9.55 followed by Credit Corporation Ltd (CCP) at K1.70, down by 8toea.
Airlines PNG Ltd (CGA) traded today, edged down by 8toea to finish at 7toea. Exploration stock Coppermolly Ltd (COY) closed at 5toea, down 5toea.
A substantial volume of 1,476,511 shares were transacted at the value of K1,597,274.95.
In off-shore news, U.S stocks closed mostly lower as declined in energy shares weighed on the broader market after crude oil prices dropped, while the Dow closed slightly higher to post a seventh record session. The DJIA closed flat at 13.00 points or 0.06% to 21,987.00 points. Japan’s Nikkei share average slipped as the yen’s rise to seven-week highs overshadowed optimism on corporate earnings. The Nikkei shed 76.93 points or 0.38% to 19,952.33 points. The Australian market closed lower on the back of gains overnight at the S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index fell 9.10 points or 0.16% to 5,735.10 points.
