Both Kina Securities Indices were unchanged amid quiet trading on POMSoX for the first trading day of May. The main index or KSi was steady at 3,862.68 points. Likewise the home index or KSHi was unmoved at 9,799.91 points at the close.
There were three key stocks traded but all remained flat today.
For Friday’s session, Kina Asset Management Ltd (KAM) and Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) both traded steady at K1.00 & K7.45 respectively , while Oil Search Ltd (OSH) registered at K16.50 even.
The day’s trading recorded a light volume of 15,099 shares at a value of K89,382.25.
U.S stocks finished lower on Thursday as mixed economic data fuelled a sell-off in technology and small-cap shares that until recently had been strong performers. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slumped 195.01 points or 1.08% to 17,840.52 points. Japanese stocks on Friday fell to its lowest level in almost a month as traders reduced their exposure ahead of Golden Week holidays in Japan. The Nikkei share average fell 91.89 points or 0.47% to 19,428.12 points. In Australia, the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 collected 32.32 points or 0.56% to 5,822.30 points, as shares are back in positive territory as iron ore production news boosts big miners and revived expectations of an interest rate cut help banks.
