The POMSOX trading session closed unchanged amid a moderate active session upon resuming the long Christmas holiday weekend. The Kina Securities main index KSi was maintained at 4,777.25 points and likewise the Kina Securities Home Index KSHi was steady at 10,641.78 points.
All stocks traded today were unchanged.
Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) ended flat at K9.00 followed closely by Oil Search Ltd (OSH) at K17.12. Junior cap explorer Highlands Pacific Ltd (HIG) was evened out at 19toea at the close.
Wednesday’s trading session transacted a substantial volume of 176,922 shares valued at K808,807.23.
U.S stocks finished slightly higher in sluggish following the Christmas holiday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 11.23 points or 0.01% to 19,945.04 points. Japan’s Nikkei share average was flat in thin end-of-year trade while Toshiba Corp tumbled 20 percent on continued concerns about posting a big special loss. The Nikkei was barely changed by 7.57 points or 0.04% to 19,410.63 points. The Australian market advanced as trading resumed after the long Christmas holidays. Higher commodity prices lifted resources stocks with the S&P/ASX 200 benchmark index adding 57.50 points or 1.01% to 5,685.40 points.
