A leading financial stock Bank South Pacific Ltd (BSP) closed even at K7.50, followed by PNG main oil and gas stock Oil Search Ltd (OSH) at K16.01

In New York, U.S stocks started December on a high note as expectations the European Central Bank would launch further stimulus measures later this week despite disappointing manufacturing data. The Dow Average rose 168.43 points or 0.95% higher to 17,888.35 points. In Japan, the Nikkei share average declined 38.12 points or 0.19% to 19,974.28 points in choppy trade as investors shunned risk. Australian shares traded lower after the latest GDP figures showed 2.50% growth on year in Q3, better than expected. The S&P/ASX 200 fell 6.34 points or 0.12% to 5,259.80 points.
