Kina Sporting Teams

Kina are strong supporters of the sporting community, and participate in a number of local competitions throughout PNG.

Kina supports a number of sporting teams, including the Kina Men's Indoor cricket team. This particular team were the undefeated champions of the 2003 February to April season in the Port Moresby Indoor Cricket Competition.

Kina entered two staff teams into the recent Charity Cup seven a-side soccer during Easter (Men/Women), in which the women's won. Kina also has three teams in the current 2003 corporate touch competition in Port Moresby, all of which are doing well.

Kina also enters a staff team in the annual Port Moresby private companies netball competition.

Charity Support

Kina is dedicated to giving back to the local community, and provides ongoing support to charitable causes throughout PNG. Examples of this include Kina's support for the Cheshire Homes' golf day, which is a major fundraising event to assist the Cheshire Homes for the disabled. Most recently Kina staff have also participated in a weekly sausage sizzle to help raise funds for the Cheshire Homes.

Staff Support

Kina has a social club and committee, which serve to hold social activities for the staff. Employees contribute to a fund, which is used to raise further capital to fund social events and activities throughout the year.

Kina has a strong focus on training and development of staff. Staff are able to undergo external training through undergraduate and postgraduate study to further their skills and knowledge, and also better their contribution to Kina. Kina funds the training at no cost to the employee. An example of this is high skilled training programs in finance by the Securities Institute in Australia, where a number of Kina staff are currently undergoing undergraduate and postgraduate study.

Kina is a member of the Port Moresby Stock Exchange, Corporate Member of Transparency International, and a member of the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It is also a member of the Employers Federation.
